 Where is San Rafael?

San Rafael is located three hours from Medellin and the municipality shares borders with San Carlos, Guatapé, and Alejandría. At an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, it is home to lush forests with native flora and fauna, making it a truly unique destination in terms of natural beauty. It stands out for its abundant water resources and biodiversity.

Furthermore, San Rafael is the first municipality in eastern Antioquia to have a photographic bird guide, with over 260 recorded species.

In our natural Reserve, you will find the stunning Río Bizcocho, renowned for its crystal-clear waters that will leave you speechless! Dive into an oasis of fun and relaxation, where you can bask in the sun and cool off in our private natural pool areas.

Take a hike along the river to waterfalls and other natural pools or bushwack through the jungle along the stream that borders the reserve.  In addition, there are several other rivers teeming with delightful swimming holes throughout the San Rafael area.
You could also visit the authentic Colombian pueblo of San Rafael where locals still ride into town on horseback and opportunities for eco tourism activities such as tubing down a river, rock climbing, and guided hiking trips are all available to explore.
